Pterocarpus santalinus

Discover a rare gem: a young Small Leaf Red Sandalwood (Pterocarpus santalinus). Glossy, delicate leaves and a graceful stem emerge from a glass vessel, where semi-hydro cultivation in Sugibase* encourages slow, steady growth.

Ideal for sunny corners or bright office windows. Though this plant is a young specimen, its species famously produced the highly prized “King of Woods” timber used by the Ming and Qing imperial courts.

*Sugibase is an alternative to soil created specifically for indoor gardening. It uses repurposed domestic cedar wood chips combined with special bacteria to suppress both rotting of the cedar and mould growth, creating an optimal environment for plant growth.

Glass vase and plant: 8cm x 8cm by 25-28cm height.

Each plant is unique and will differ from image shown.
